The skills train 24/7, even when not logged on. high charisma = faster training with tradeskill skills. You train skills in real time based on stats you give your character (high perception = faster training with flyings kills. "Skills" are one of Eve's 2 big ways to advance your character. You fly your ship with right-clicking and selecting options, like "orbit at 20 km" or "approach." Double-clicking in a direction flies you in that direction. Your ship is controlled from a third-person perspective with fixed camera angles (typically you center on your ship though). Maybe even the deepest and broadest MMO overall. The equivalent of experience is earned, I believe, by killing enemy ships.Įve online is easily the deepest and broadest sci-fi MMO out there.

You can upgrade ships, do very simplistic trading missions (hardly a step above Elite, as far as I remember). You get little missions, fly around shooting stuff up, unlock "licenses" to use new weapons and armor and shields and stuff for your ship. Flight controls can be typical, or "realistic" (where acceleration is only countered by accelerating in the opposite direction, just like in real outer space, and stuff like that). Vendetta is much more of a space shooter with limited strategy and RPG elements mixed in. There are more things to do in this game than you will ever, ever experience first hand (solo and group PvE, alliance PvP, pirate PvP, many types of industry, playing the market, exploring new areas, etc.) You are limited to fighting or very basic trading for stuff to do.ĮO is a more strategy-oriented game, mixing elements of sci-fi turn-based strategy games, RPGs, and space shooters, where your character grows in power by training skills in real time and making money. VO is an action-oriented shooter with some strategy and RPG elements mixed in, where you grow in power by killing to get money and experience. It's been maybe 6 months since I played Eve, but I played it for the better part of 2 years. It's been a couple years since I played Vendetta at all, and I only played it for several days.
